Gorgeous especially love the landscapes
these landscapes and caricatures are great, man. what's the red wash? just an ink bleed or you applying watercolor separate.
Thanks, Mike. The colour is more brown than red. I mix it myself. For the landscapes I used a Namiki Falcon SF fountain pen for the line work and two of those squeezey bodied Japanese brush pens, made by Kuretake Co., that you can fill with your own ink. One is about the equivalent size of a number 5 brush, filled with the same ink as the pen, and the other is a three eighths or half inch flat, filled with a half tone of the same ink. For the heads I just use the Namiki and a little plain water to get a bleed. However, I have been known to tinker with the drawings in the studio when I get back home.
Hi Paul! Doubt you remember me, we met at the Kings Mountain Art Fair today, I was lugging a 200 pound baby on my back. I had no idea you had worked at DWA! I'm at PDI, working on a Madagascar film. Loved your paintings!
